Wycliffe Hungary

The beginnings

By God's grace and as the fruit of many years of sacrificial work by a Dutch couple, Piet and Joka Koen, the Hungarian Wycliffe office was established in 1998 in Eger, a town in the North-East of Hungary, 100 miles from the capital, Budapest. At the same time, eight board members were appointed and the organisation was officially registered as an association.

Until the summer of 2002, Zsuzsanna Lukács took care of all the office tasks alone, with the exception of one year when she was helped by Emese Láng, one of our career members. In 2002, to help with the increased workload, Zsuzsa was joined by our Wycliffe members, Helen and Attila Kovács, and then in 2003 also by Zsuzsanna Zentai. Mention must also be made of our colleague Martin M. Robb, who had a developing role since 1999 and has held the position of finance manager since 2003. Attila was appointed director of the organisation in 2003 and has filled this role since. Helen has been working in personnel for a few years now. Zsuzsanna Zentai has been serving as the communications coordinator.

Recent history

In spring 2006, three new Wycliffe board members were appointed who brought a fair amount of activity and expertise in different areas, e.g., finances, to the function of the board and gave it a true interdenominational feel. The new board adopted and accepted several significant documents for the organisation, e.g. new Wycliffe International Statement of Faith, Mission and Vision Statements, and Core Values.

2007 saw several milestones in the development of Wycliffe Hungary. Our very first Annual General Meeting was held in that year. Our constitution was completely revised and brought in line with recent developments in Hungarian Charity Law. In October, the Wycliffe Hungary office headquarters was relocated to the capital city, Budapest. This move would enable us to more effectively do our part regarding Vision 2025 among our Hungarian constituency. We hope that having a Wycliffe presence in one of the capital cities of the European Union will continue to be beneficial to our partner organisations too, both in Europe and beyond. In recognition of the progress Wycliffe Hungary has made, the Wycliffe International board granted our association full membership in 2007.

Partnership

Wycliffe Hungary has been a member organisation of the Hungarian Evangelical Alliance since 2005. We have established a very good relationship with the Hungarian Bible Society. 2008 was the Year of Bible in Hungary, so we partnered with them and with the Hungarian Baptist Church in different programmes. We have signed a partnership agreement with OM Hungary and are looking into the possibility of forming a close relationship with Interserve Hungary also.

Wycliffe Hungary celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2008. During this time it grew to be the largest interdenominational overseas mission agency in Hungary. It has developed and enjoyed a strong relationship with the Hungarian Church.

Members

Even though Wycliffe Hungary is still a very young and small organisation, our members have served in various parts of the world, e.g., Ghana, Congo, Uganda, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, and in a couple of other Asian countries. The roles Hungarian members have filled are just as diverse: translation, literacy work, IT, and several administrative and support roles.

The future

We can divide the tasks that lie ahead of us into two large groups:

Through our work we'd like to serve the whole Hungarian Church and Christians. We would like to draw their attention to and share with them the joy we have in seeing the wonderful things that God is doing through His Word in the remote parts of the world. It is a privilege for us that after a long time God has made it possible for Hungarian Christians too to contribute to the Great Commission of fulfilling God's mission to the world.

As one of the few mission organizations in Hungary which sends Hungarian missionaries abroad, we would like to be a tool in the preparation and sending of workers in the future - those whom God is calling to be a part of the multi-faceted work of Bible translation.

Los comienzos

Por la gracia de Dios y como fruto de muchos años de trabajo sacrificial por parte de una pareja holandesa, Piet y Joka Koen, la oficina de Wycliffe Hungría se estableció en 1998 en Eger, una ciudad en el noreste de Hungría, a 161kilómetros de la capital, Budapest. Al mismo tiempo se nombraron ocho miembros de la junta directiva y la organización se registró oficialmente como asociación.

Hasta el verano de 2002, Zsuzsanna Lukács se hizo cargo de todas las tareas de oficina, excepto un año en que la ayudó Emese Láng, uno de nuestros miembros. En el 2002, para ayudar hacer frente al incremento de la carga laboral, a Zsuzsa se le unieron otros dos miembros de Wycliffe: Helen y Attila Kovács; luego en el 2003 también se unió Zsuzsanna Zentai. Asimismo debemos mencionar a nuestro colega Martin M. Robb, quien tuvo un papel en favor de desarrollo desde 1999 y ha ocupado el puesto de gerente financiero desde el 2003. Ese mismo año Attila fue nombrado director y desde entonces ha cumplido este papel. Desde hace algunos años Helen ha venido trabajando en el área de personal, y Zsuzsanna Zentai ha venido sirviendo como coordinadora de comunicaciones.

La historia reciente

En la primavera de 2006,se nombraron tres nuevos miembros en la junta de Wycliffe los que trajeron una gran cantidad de actividad y una vasta experiencia a diferentes áreas, p. ej. a finanzas, para las funciones de la junta directiva, dándole una verdadera percepción interdenominacional. La nueva junta aprobó y aceptó varios documentos importantes para la organización, como por ejemplo, la nueva Declaración de Fe, Declaraciones de la Misión y la Visión y Valores Fundamentales de Wycliffe International.

En el 2007, se produjeron varios hitos en el desarrollo de Wycliffe Hungría. Ese año se celebró nuestra primera Asamblea General Anual. El acta constitutiva fue completamente revisada y alineada a los cambios reciente en la legislación húngara para las entidades benéficas. En el mes de octubre, la sede de la oficina de Wycliffe Hungría se trasladó a la capital, Budapest. Esto nos permitió desempeñar con más efectividad nuestro rol con respecto a la Visión 2025 entre los que apoyan la obra en Hungría. Asimismo esperamos que el hecho de que Wycliffe esté presente en una de las capitales de la Unión Europea también siga siendo beneficioso para nuestras organizaciones aliadas, tanto en Europa como más allá de sus fronteras. En reconocimiento a los avances que Wycliffe Hungría ha logrado, en el año 2007la junta de Wycliffe International concedió a Wycliffe Hungría una membresía plena.

Alianza estratégica

Desde el 2005,Wycliffe Hungría es miembro de la Alianza Evangélica Húngara. Hemos desarrollado una muy buena relación con la Sociedad Bíblica Húngara; el 2008 fue el Año de la Biblia en Hungría por lo que nos aliamos como socios con ellos y con la Iglesia Bautista Húngara en los diferentes programas. Asimismo firmamos un acuerdo de alianza estratégica con OM Hungría y estamos analizando también la posibilidad de estrechar vínculos con Interserve Hungría.

Wycliffe Hungría celebró su décimo aniversario en el 2008. Durante este tiempo llegó a ser la agencia misionera extranjera interdenominacional más grande de Hungría. Cultivamos y disfrutamos de una excelente relación con la iglesia húngara.

Miembros

A pesar de que Wycliffe Hungría es todavía una organización muy joven y pequeña, nuestros miembros ya han servido en varias partes del mundo: Ghana, Congo, Uganda, Nigeria, Papúa Nueva Guinea, y otros países asiáticos, desempeñando roles tan diversos como: traducción, alfabetización, TI, y varias funciones administrativas y de apoyo.

El futuro
Podemos dividir las tareas que tenemos por delante en dos grandes grupos:

A través de nuestra labor nos gustaría servir a toda la iglesia y a los creyentes húngaros. Nos gustaría captar su atención y compartir con ellos el gozo de ver las maravillas que Dios está realizando a través de su Palabra en las regiones más remotas del mundo. Es un privilegio para nosotros que después de mucho tiempo Dios haya permitido que los creyentes húngaros también contribuyan a la Gran Comisión, cumpliendo así la misión de Dios para el mundo.

Al ser una de las pocas organizaciones misioneras de Hungría que envía misioneros húngaros al exterior, en el futuro nos gustaría ser una herramienta en la formación y envío de obreros, a los que Dios está llamando a ser parte de la multifacética obra de la traducción de la Biblia.

Les débuts :

Par la grâce de Dieu et suite aux longues années de travail et de sacrifices de Piet et Joka Koen, un couple néerlandais, le bureau de Wycliffe Hongrie a été ouvert en 1998 à Eger, une ville au nord-est de la Hongrie située à 140 km de la capitale, Budapest. Huit membres du Conseil d’administration ont alors été nommés et l’organisation a officiellement reçu le statut d’association.

Jusqu’à l’été 2002, Zsuzsanna Lukács a entièrement pris en charge l’administration, sauf pendant une année où Emese Láng, une des membres à long terme, l’a aidée. La charge de travail augmentant, Helen et Attila Kovács, des membres de Wycliffe, ont rejoint Zsuzsa en 2002, suivis par Zsuzsanna Zentai en 2003. N’oublions pas non plus Martin M. Robb qui, depuis 1999, joue un rôle grandissant et, depuis 2003, assume la charge de directeur financier de Wycliffe Hongrie. Attila a été nommé directeur de l’organisation en 2003 et exerce cette fonction depuis. Helen travaille aux ressources humaines depuis maintenant quelques années. Zsuzsanna Zentai est coordinatrice de la communication.

Ces dernières années

Au printemps 2006, trois nouveaux membres du Conseil d’administration ont été nommés. Ils lui ont apporté un bon nombre d’activités et une expertise dans plusieurs domaines (par exemple la finance) ; ils ont aussi instauré en son sein un véritable climat interdénominationnel. Le nouveau Conseil d’administration a approuvé plusieurs documents clés pour l’organisation, tels que la nouvelle Confession de Foi de Wycliffe International, les Mission and Vision Statements et les Core Values.

L’année 2007 a connu plusieurs événements marquants pour le développement de Wycliffe Hongrie. Cette année-là, elle a tenu sa toute première Assemblée Générale. Ses statuts ont été entièrement revus pour respecter l’évolution de la législation hongroise concernant les organisations caritatives. En octobre, ses bureaux ont déménagé à Budapest, la capitale. Ce déménagement allait lui permettre de mieux jouer son rôle en Hongrie pour atteindre Objectif 2025. Son personnel espère aussi que la présence de Wycliffe dans l’une des capitales de l’Union Européenne sera utile à ses organisations partenaires, en Europe comme ailleurs. Cette même année, en reconnaissance du travail accompli par Wycliffe Hongrie, le Conseil d’administration de Wycliffe International a accordé à cette association le statut de membre à part entière.

Partenariat

Wycliffe Hongrie est une organisation membre de l’Alliance Évangélique de Hongrie depuis 2005. Elle entretient de très bonnes relations avec l’Alliance Biblique Hongroise. En 2008 a eu lieu l’Année de la Bible en Hongrie. Elle y a collaboré, également avec l’Église Baptiste de Hongrie, sur plusieurs projets. Elle a conclu un partenariat officiel avec OM Hongrie et étudie la possibilité de se rapprocher d’Interserve Hongrie.

Wycliffe Hongrie a célébré son 10e anniversaire en 2008. Pendant cette période elle est devenue la plus importante mission de Hongrie tournée vers l’étranger. Elle a développé avec plaisir des liens solides avec l’Église hongroise.

Les membres

Bien que Wycliffe Hongrie soit une organisation encore très jeune et de petite taille, nos membres œuvrent déjà dans plusieurs parties du monde comme le Ghana, le Congo, l’Ouganda, le Nigeria, la Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée ainsi que dans quelques autres pays d’Asie. Ses membres hongrois exercent des activités aussi variées que la traduction, l’alphabétisation, l’informatique ainsi que des postes administratifs et techniques.

L’avenir

Deux grands champs d’action se profilent à l’horizon :

Par son travail, elle souhaite être au service de tous les chrétiens hongrois et de l’Église de Hongrie dans son ensemble. Elle aimerait attirer leur attention sur les œuvres magnifiques que Dieu accomplit, par sa Parole, dans les régions reculées du monde et partager avec eux sa joie de voir. Quel privilège de constater qu’au bout de longues années, Dieu a rendu possible également à des chrétiens hongrois de contribuer à l’ordre de Jésus d’accomplir la mission de Dieu dans le monde.

Elle est l’une des seules missions en Hongrie à envoyer des missionnaires hongrois à l’étranger et elle aimerait être un outil pour préparer ceux que Dieu appellera à participer aux diverses tâches liées à la traduction de la Bible et les envoyer à l’avenir.

Pela graça de Deus e como fruto de muitos anos de trabalho sacrificial de um casal holandês, Piet e Joka Koen, o escritório húngaro da Wycliffe foi estabelecido em 1998 em Eger, uma cidade no nordeste da Hungria, a 160 km da capital, Budapest. Na mesma época, foram indicados oito membros para a diretoria e a organização foi registrada oficialmente como uma associação.

Até o verão de 2002, Zsuzsanna Lukács cuidou de todas as atividades oficiais sozinha, com a exceção de um ano quando foi auxiliada por Emese Láng, um de nossos membros de carreira. Em 2002, para ter ajuda com a crescente quantidade de trabalho, Zsuzsa passou a contar com nossos membros da Wycliffe, Helen e Attila Kovács, e a partir de 2003 também com Zsuzsanna Zentai. História recente:

2007 foi um ano de muitos marcos no desenvolvimento da Wycliffe da Hungria. Nosso primeiro Encontro Geral Anual aconteceu naquele ano. Nosso estatuto foi completamente revisado e alinhado com os desenvolvimentos recentes da Lei de Caridade Húngara. Em outubro, a sede do escritório da Wycliffe da Hungria foi realocada na capital, Budapest. Essa mudança nos permitiria fazer nossa parte entre nossos círculos húngaros de forma mais eficiente. Esperamos que ter uma presença da Wycliffe em uma das capitais da União Europeia também continue a ser beneficial para nossas organizações parceiras, tanto na Europa quanto além dela. Em reconhecimento ao progresso feito pela Wycliffe da Hungria, a diretoria da Wycliffe Internacional concedeu membresia plena à nossa associação em 2007.

Parceria

A Wycliffe da Hungria é uma organização membro da Aliança Evangélica Húngara desde 2005. Estabelecemos um relacionamento muito bom com a Sociedade Bíblica Húngara. 2008 foi o Ano da Bíblia na Hungria, então fizemos vários programas em parceria com eles e com a Igreja Batista Húngara. Assinamos um acordo de parceria com a OM Hungary e também estamos analisando a possibilidade de estabelecer uma relação de proximidade com a Interserve Hungary.

A Wycliffe da Hungria celebrou seu 10º aniversário em 2008. Durante esse tempo ela cresceu até se tornar a maior agência missionária estrangeira na Hungria. Ela desenvolveu e tem desfrutado de um forte relacionamento com a Igreja húngara.

Através de nosso trabalho gostaríamos de servir a igreja húngara e os cristãos húngaros como um todo. Gostaríamos de atrair sua atenção e compartilhar com eles a alegria que temos em ver as coisas maravilhosas que Deus está fazendo através da Sua Palavra nas partes remotas do mundo. Para nós é um privilégio que após muito tempo Deus possibilitou que os cristãos húngaros também contribuíssem com a Grande Comissão de cumprir a missão de Deus no mundo.

Como uma das poucas organizações missionárias na Hungria que enviam missionários para o exterior, gostaríamos de ser uma ferramenta no preparo e envio de trabalhadores no futuro – aqueles que Deus tem chamado para ser parte do trabalho multifacetado de tradução da Bíblia.

起初

藉著神的恩典，並一對荷蘭夫婦凱恩夫婦（Piet and Joka Koen）多年的委身工作，威克理夫的匈牙利辦事處於1998年成立。辦事處位於匈牙利東北部，距離首都布達佩斯一百英里的一個市鎮埃格爾（Eger）。與此同時，該會正式成為威克理夫的會員機構，並委任八位董事會成員。

合作伙伴

自2005年以來，匈牙利威克理夫一直是匈牙利福音聯盟的成員。我們也跟匈牙利聖經公會建立了良好的關係。 2008年是匈牙利的聖經年，我們跟聖經公會和匈牙利浸信會在不同的項目上合作。我們又跟匈牙利世界福音動員會（OM）簽訂了合作協議，同時正在研究跟匈牙利 國際主僕差會（Interserve）結成密切伙伴關係的可能性。

匈牙利威克理夫於2008年慶祝成立十周年。在此期間，它已發展成為匈牙利最大的跨宗派海外宣教機構，跟匈牙利教會也建立了穏固的關係。

成員

雖然匈牙利威克理夫仍然是個非常年輕和小型的機構，但我們的會員遍及世界各個地方，如加納、剛果、烏干達、尼日利亞、巴布亞新幾內亞，並其他幾個亞洲國家服侍。匈牙利成員所擔任的角色也同樣多樣，包括翻譯、識字教育、資訊科技，以及一些行政和支緩的角色。

未來

我們會把今後的工作分成兩大類：

透過我們的工作，我們期望能服侍整個匈牙利的教會和基督徒群體。我們希望能吸引他們的注意，並與他們分享我們的喜樂，就是看見神用自己的話語，在世界上偏遠地區施行的奇妙事情。經過一段長時間後，神讓匈牙利的基督徒同樣有機會在大使命上作出貢獻，以實現祂對這個世界的使命，我們為此感到榮幸。

在匈牙利，差派匈牙利宣教士出國的宣教組織不多，我們是其中一個。今後，我們希望能夠一件器皿，為神預備和差派工人 —— 那些蒙神呼召，成為聖經翻譯多元工作中一員的人。

A kezdetek

Isten kegyelméből és egy holland házaspár, Piet és Joke Koen sokéves áldozatos munkájának gyümölcseként alakult meg a magyar Wycliffe Bibliafordítók Egyesülete 1998-ban Egerben. Ezidőtájt került sor a hét elnökségi tag megválasztásra, valamint a szervezetet hivatalos bejegyzésére. 2002 nyaráig Lukács Zsuzsanna egyedül végezte az irodai munkát egy év kivételével, amikor is egy másik magyar Wycliffe tag, Láng Emese a segítségre volt.

Annak érdekében, hogy a növekvő munkaterheket jobban megosszák, illetve továbbfejlesszék a hazai szolgálatot, 2002-ben Magyarországra költözött és csatlakozott a munkához egy másik magyar Wycliffe-tag házaspár, Kovács Attila és Helen. 2003-ban pedig tovább bővült a magyarországi szolgálat, Zentai Zsuzsanna felvételével. Meg kell még említenünk Martin M. Robb-ot is, akinek 1999 óta van szerepe az egyesületben, és aki 2003 óta a pénzügyi koordinátori feladatokat is ellátja. Kovács Attilát 2003-ban nevezték ki a szervezet igazgatójává, ezt a szolgálatot azóta is ő tölti be. Felesége, Helen a személyzeti feladatokat végzi. Zentai Zsuzsanna a szervezet kommunikációs koordinátora.

A jelen

2006 tavaszán három új Wycliffe-elnökségi tagot választottak a leköszönő tagok helyébe, akik tevékenységükkel és szakértelmükkel, például pénzügyek terén, nagyban hozzájárulnak ahhoz, hogy a magyarországi szolgálat minél jobban felekezetközi alapokra kerüljön. Az új elnökség több jelentős szabályzatot is elfogadott, ilyenek például a Nemzetközi Wycliffe Bibliafordítók Hitvallása, a Küldetésről és Látásról szóló nyilatkozatok, és az ún. Alapértékek dokumentum.

2007-ben több jelentős esemény is történt a magyar Wycliffe életében. Ebben az évben került sor legelső közgyűlésre. A magyar egyesületi jog változásait figyelembe véve teljesen átdolgoztuk alapszabályunkat, amelyet a tagságunk el is fogadott. 2007 októberében áthelyeztük az iroda székhelyét Egerből Budapestre. A költözés lehetővé teszi, hogy még hatékonyabban vegyünk részt a 2025-es Cél megvalósításában magyar támogatóinkkal együtt. Reméljük, azáltal, hogy a Wycliffe Magyarország jelen van az Európai Unió egyik fővárosában, pozitív hatással lesz a partnerszervezeteinkkel való kapcsolatunkra mind Európában, mind pedig azon kívül. A magyar Wycliffe Bibliafordítók előmenetelének elismeréseképpen a Nemzetközi Wycliffe Bibliafordítók 2007-ben teljes jogú tagsági joggal ruházta fel szervezetünket.

Együttműködő partnereink:
A Wycliffe Bibliafordítók Egyesülete 2005 óta a Magyar Evangéliumi Szövetség (Aliansz) tagja. Ezen kívül a Magyar Bibliatársulattal is nagyon jó a kapcsolatunk. 2008 a Biblia Éve Magyarországon. Ennek fényében a Magyarországi Baptista Egyházzal karöltve közösen szerveztünk programokat. Partneri megállapodást írtunk alá az OM Magyarországgal, és hasonlóan szoros együttműködést tervezünk más a külmissziót szívügyüknek tekintő magyarosrzági szolgálatokkal.

A magyar Wycliffe 2008-ban ünnepelte fennállásának 10. évfordulóját. Az elmúlt időszak alatt Magyarország legjelentősebb felekezetközi külmissziós szervezetévé nőtte ki magát, és szoros kapcsolatot épített ki és tart fenn a magyar egyházakkal.

Tagjaink:
Bár a magyar Wycliffe még fiatal és kis szervezet, tagjaink a világ különböző részein szolgáltak már: Ghánában, Kongóban, Ugandában, Nigériában, Pápua Új-Guineában, és néhány ázsiai országban. A magyar tagok feladatai nagyon szerteágazóak voltak: fordítási, írás-olvasás-tanítási, számítógépes, adminisztratív és támogatói feladatokat töltöttek be. A jövő

Az előttünk levő munkát két nagy területe oszthatjuk fel:

Szolgálatunkkal egyrészről a magyar egyházat és a keresztyéneket szeretnénk támogatni. Felhívjuk a figyelmüket és megosztjuk velük örömünket, hogy milyen csodálatos dolgokat visz végbe Isten az Ő Ígéjén keresztül a világ távoli részein is. Kiváltságnak tartjuk, hogy hosszú idő után Isten a magyar keresztyének számára is lehetővé tette, hogy hozzájáruljanak a Missziói Parancs teljesítéséhez.

A kisszámú magyarországi küldő szervezetek egyikeként, amelyek külmisszióba küldenek magyar misszionáriusokat, szeretnénk olyan eszköz lenni, amely felkészíti és kiküldi a munkásokat, akiket Isten hívott el arra, hogy a Bibliafordítás sokoldalú feladatában részt vegyenek.
