Wycliffe Singapore - Missions is for YOU

Wycliffe Singapore celebrated its 35th anniversary on 2 November 2019 at Grace Baptist Church in Singapore in a unique way. Through a family day event for ages 7 to 100, nearly 100 people gathered to share this joyous day with Wycliffe Singapore, while discovering that missions and Bible translation can be for them too.

Named “Missions is for YOU”, the afternoon event was composed of various fun activities. On top of worship, a buffet lunch, children's programs, games and other activities, the highlight was three interesting workshops for both adults and teenagers, which were:

  • Workshop 1 - Craft a Bible story in Singlish: Learning to translate a Bible story into Singlish.
  • Workshop 2 - Linguistics taster: Understanding the many aspects of languages.
  • Workshop 3 - Power tools for learning a new language: Learning some useful tools and tips as you pick up a new language.

Wycliffe Singapore was founded in 1983. Beginning with a mere handful of members, it has grown to over 30 members who have served in Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
