Wycliffe Thai Foundation in time for celebration
With the theme of “In His Hands”, Wycliffe Thai Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary and the opening of its brand-new, multipurpose office building in Nong Kwai, Chiangmai on 28 October.
The Wycliffe Thai team, together with about 200 local and overseas guests, gathered in the new building for a special service of celebration and thanksgiving. Some of the special guests were Dr Chaiyun Ukosakul, the organisation’s former board chair; Pastor Chumsang Reong, the first director; Dr Tony Chan of Wycliffe Global Alliance Asia-Pacific; Charles Ho of Wycliffe Singapore; and leaders representing ministry partners including SIL International, Wycliffe Canada, Chiangmai Seminary, Payap University and Glory Presbyterian Church in Singapore. The event was also live-streamed for those who could not attend in person.
Wycliffe Thai Foundation was established in 1998 as Wycliffe Thailand in Bangkok. Pastor Tharawat Suebtayat has been the director since 2011. Currently, the organisation has 21 field members (17 units) serving in Thailand and its neighbouring countries through Bible translation, community development, literacy, mobilisation and more. Along with the head office in Chiangmai, the organisation also operates two branch offices in Hai Yai and Mukdahan.
