World Day of Prayer for Bible Translation

11 November 2024

Growing Together

Just as plants need the right conditions in order to thrive and bear fruit, we as God’s people need to follow God’s directions in order to experience fruitful spiritual growth to experience fruitful spiritual growth. In John 15:5, Jesus tells us to “remain” in him so we can grow as fruit-bearing “branches on the vine”. This year, we have chosen the same theme for the World Day of Prayer for Bible Translation as the Alliance Global Gathering that takes place this year in South Africa: “Growing Together”.

Although not everyone will be able to participate in person at the Global Gathering, the goal of this gathering is to shape the whole Alliance. All Alliance staff will be invited to attend some sessions online and take part in activities that will connect them to the in-person event. This year the World Day of Prayer for Bible Translation will take place just a week after the Global Gathering, on (or near) 11 November. Through both of these events, we will be able to reflect on ways we can help each other to grow spiritually and ways in which we can grow closer in community and friendship.
