Spell-checking Kinga translation
United Republic of Tanzania [2017-02-17] —
Helen Eaton, Mbeya, Tanzania, linguistics consultant – The Kinga translators hope to complete their New Testament translation in 2017. As a linguist, Helen gets to help with one of the final stages – spell-checking! The spelling rules for Kinga were developed alongside the translation work over the last 10 years. Now Helen and the team need to make sure they have applied them consistently throughout the New Testament and check for typos (especially ones which inadvertently change the meaning of the text). Pray that God will guide the team to spot all the problems and for good concentration and stamina as they go through the spellchecking together.
