Pray for Czech Republic

  • Scripture nearing completion

Eastern Slovak Romani; Slovakia/Czech Republic (600,000). A limited edition of the Eastern Slovak Romani New Testament was published the end of 2013, mainly for pastors and church leaders. As feedback is received from them, ask the Lord to lead translators to the best publisher for the five thousand copies to be printed this year. Pray, too, for the necessary funding. Pray that there will be wide distribution of the Scriptures and that the Roma churches, Romani public, and the Slovak church will accept the New Testament as a viable, respectable translation. The translation team would also like to produce an audio recording of the New Testament. Present this desire to the Lord for His provision and direction. Rejoice that the New Testament text is already available at! The Word For The World -

  • Camp Wycliffe a Success for Slovakia & Czech Republic

In summer 2011 Wycliffe Slovakia and Wycliffe Czech Republic held a joint “Camp Wycliffe.” This is a week-long event at which participants learn about the work of Wycliffe world-wide and have the opportunity to consider how God might be leading them to participate. There were 18 participants at this most recent event and the organizers were encouraged by the enthusiasm of this group of young people.

  • Meeting of Leaders from Central and East Europe

From November 14-18, 2011 leaders of Wycliffe organizations from central and east Europe (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia and Slovakia) will be meeting together in Slovakia. This is an opportunity for sharing ideas and looking for new ways to collaborate. There has been some exciting growth in these organizations but they are still relatively young and have considerable potential for growth.
