- Scripture nearing completion - AYTA cluster project: Philippines
Philippines [2013-03-01] —
AYTA cluster project—ABELLEN , MAGIN DI, and AMBALA languages; Philippines; 10,200. The Ayta cluster project made progress despite some setbacks. Lift up the Abellen translation team in prayer as they grieve the loss of a young man who was helping them. Pray for spiritual, physical, and emotional strength for the members of each of the three teams. Praise the Lord that clustering these related languages together has paid off—the Magindi team was able to improve their translation by observing the work of their linguistic neighbors. Praise the Lord, too, for the insight He has given the teams as they study and translate His Word. The translators also worked with others to create audio and visual materials that will accelerate the impact of the Scriptures in their communities. www.oneverse.org
- Having God's word in our language will make us feel human - Philippines
Philippines [2010-07-04] —
Mel Awid of TAP (Translators Association of the Philippines) is co-ordinating translation, Scripture use, literacy, education and community development among five Ayta language groups, three hours north of Manila. One group has the NT but needs help with literacy. Three translation teams are working on their first book, Matthew. They meet for checking and training with a consultant every month. And three TAP members started working on a fifth language in June. One person said, “Having God’s word in our language will make us feel human. And people will believe that we know God.”

Philippines [2010-03-04] —
During a workshop for the translation committees of the Ayta Abellen, Ayta Mag-indi, and Ayta Ambala languages, the committees completed drafts of three chapters of Matthew. The workshop included a day of reflection about how to encourage people to read the new translations when they are done. Scripture engagement consultant, Monie Chiong, explained that the goal was transformed lives and not just producing a product to be used. Please pray that the transformation of lives will start with the translation committee members and that the translated Scriptures will provide a strong foundation for the Ayta churches.
