- Belize Kriol English New Testament: Belize
Belize [2013-04-25] —
On March 6, the formal dedication of the Belize Kriol English New Testament was held in Belize City in St. John's Anglican Cathedral. The cathedral, built in 1812, was the first Anglican Church in Central America. The labor was done by slaves, the ancestors of Belize Kriol people. Now, 200 years later, they dedicated God's Word in their own language in this same church. The Belize Kriol people also have the New Testament on a dramatized audio CD. The music and sound effects make it come alive. Pray that this will be a great tool for beginning readers and those who don't read Kriol.

BELIZE KRIOL; Belize; 110,000. The Belize Kriol translation team finished an oral read-through of the New Testament last year and sent it for printing in August. It was shipped by boat from Korea to Belize, and the celebration is scheduled for March 6, 2013! Rejoice that Faith Comes By Hearing will make a recording of the New Testament. Pray that the people will receive both the printed and oral forms of God’s Word with great joy and an eagerness to use them.

The Belize Kriol English New Testament has been signed off and sent to the publishers. Six months are needed for the printing process before it will be back in Belize, ready for the community celebration. The archbishop of the Anglican Church has offered the use of historic St. John's Cathedral for the celebration service. This will probably take place January 26, 2013. Praise God that these processes are underway. Pray that God will keep them on track.

BELIZE KRIOL; Belize; 110,000. The Belize Kriol translation team’s goal was to finish drafting the entire New Testament in 2011. Thank God for all the translation consultant help they have received. Pray for the team during the final consultant check, as they clean up the text, make final decisions on key terms, complete the glossary and book introductions, and perform a final read-through of the whole New Testament. Pray for the translators—for their protection and health, that they will be able to remain focused on the task, and that the computer equipment will work well.
