- Scripture crossing religious barriers: South Sudan
South Sudan [2012-09-25] —
In Africa, ethnicity is sometimes more important than which religion one adheres to. In May 2012, Keliko leaders of another religion held meetings to win more converts to their faith. Christian pastors were also invited, and brought along some New Testament portions in Keliko. The religious leaders accepted the Scripture portions because they were written in the leaders' own language and helped them better understand their own religious book. They even requested copies to take home with them!
