Pray for Mono (Democratic Republic of Congo)

UBANGI cluster project—MONO, NGBAN DI-NGIRI, and PAGABETE languages; Democratic Republic of the Congo; 393,000. Praise the Lord for the seminars and workshops that the project teams have attended to improve their skills. They are now using what they learned as they perform community testing and consultant checking on the translated New Testament, looking for any errors. Praise God that His Word is already impacting the people. Pray for the health of the team members so they may continue their work. Pray also for lasting peace in the Congo. Unrest is a significant obstacle, but the Scriptures have helped take down barriers between people. The lack of electricity in the Mono project office was also a hurdle last year. Would you commit to praying for the Pagabete, Mono, Ngbandi-Ngiri, Kaba, Gbeya, Nzakara and Beembe language projects through the next few years? Translation team members all hope to publish New Testaments in these languages in the next three years or so, 2013-2015. This stage of a project often brings greater than usual challenges for the team involved. Please pray specifically about final changes and improvements to their work, for health and safety for team members, protection from natural disasters and civil unrest, and against technical failures of the equipment they use.

The Mono translation team only has one computer, but they keep working, using handwritten drafts that are later typed. Praise God for their dedication! The Ngbandi-Ngiri team is working on consultant checking, but literacy materials and drafts for village testing cannot be printed until they find a better printer. Pray that Ngbandi-Ngiri team members and their families will have good health, as some have been very sick. The Pagabete team is also learning to persevere in times of testing.
