Anem yearn for Scripture: Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea [2012-06-21] —
The Anem people (population 800) live along the northwest coast of New Britain Island. Their area is very isolated, requiring two days' travel by boat and overland transportation to the nearest town with manufactured goods for sale. Their language is also quite difficult to learn, so they learn neighboring languages and have heard the Gospel in other languages. Their beliefs mix the traditional story of a man named Titikolo and the Biblical story of Jesus. They yearn for the Bible in their own language. Pray that this translation can be started soon.
